Dear those of you left,

This was on musicsecret today.

To clarify before I start; this isn't mine. I don't know who made it.

Now I'm sure that, of the few people who still come here, there are some who are thinking "get the fuck over it".

I loved this place, I met some amazing people here. I set aside my free time every night to spend hours here discussing music, make-up, fanfiction (good AND bad), and everything under the sun with people who got it. People who cared and listened to what I had to say, and people who's text-based company I enjoyed more than my real-life friends at the time.

Then the original Davey-Havok.net became bigger, as did the boards. We ended with over 2000 members, some of whom were awesome, some of whom were annoying. There was a lot of e-drama, and occasionally things got out of hand. As a moderator I always prided myself and the rest of us for dealing with it fairly efficiently, without acting like the elitists you find on a lot of music boards.

In my view, Katie closed this because she felt that she had created a monster. Neither her nor Gabi condoned the Javey fandom, the screaming fangirls, the elitists and the off-topic crew.

I can understand it 100%. Looking back, it did get a bit much. But to me, until the younger members joined, this was a place where I could crack jokes about the band. I loved being a mod; I loved being such a huge part of the AFI community. And we were. Everybody knew what DH.Net was.

I don't care if you think I'm being lame. I know we have D1, and that's cool, but being a part of the AFI fanbase was part of what held us together. I really miss it. Two years on, and I still want my favourite board back.

i really miss this place too.
all i ever did was sit in front of my computer for hours because of this place.

the colors really make me smile.
